PROFESSION PROMOTION PROGRAM

Engineers are the prime ambassadors and communicators of their own profession. The OIQ, through its regional committees, is looking for volunteers to promote engineering among young people at high school and Cegep. These volunteers meet with high school students to demystify the profession, explain the various areas of engineering and describe the daily life of the engineer. Similarly for college students, they share engineering experiences and demystify the profession while explaining potential paths towards becoming an engineer. You’ll be pleased to promote your profession!

    Meet with 12 to 18-year-olds in your region to inspire them to consider a career in engineering

    For your regional OIQ committee

    Participate in the various activities held by your regional committee: participation in career days and science exhibitions, industrial visits, visits to schools, team coaching for scientific competitions, "Pizza and Engineering" lunchtime meetings.

    For the Women Ambassadors of the Profession Program (specific program)

    75-minute classroom activity for Secondary 2 or 3 students, where you will present your profession and encourage them to take action to save the bees. You will lead a workshop in which the students will have to use an engineer’s approach to conserve the habitat in which bees live.

  • INDIVIDUAL INVOLVEMENT:

    You can decide on your own to visit your child’s class or a class at the school you attended in your childhood. Fill out the form and we will gladly provide you with all the necessary tools.
